Experts to Examine Emerging Forms of Gaming at NCLGS Summer Meeting,
July 7-10 in Boston

BOSTON – A panel of gaming industry experts will examine the technological, competitive and political issues that states confront when developing gaming policy when the National Council of Legislators from Gaming States (NCLGS) holds its Summer Meeting July 7-10, 2022, at the Westin Copley Place.

As the only gaming conferences where the legislative decision-makers meet, the NCLGS semiannual meetings attract legislators, regulators, operators, suppliers, attorneys, lobbyists, media, and other stakeholders to discuss all aspects of regulated gaming. Dozens of legislators from across the country will be among the more than 250 expected attendees at the Summer Meeting.

Registration is open to the public; click here to view the agenda, registration, and hotel options.

The NCLGS Committee on Emerging Forms of Gaming will focus on “The Implications and Impacts of New Gaming Options.” Gaming is expanding in multiple directions – from more casinos to distributed gaming to online gaming to state-operated gaming via lotteries – which means policymakers must carefully weigh the implications and impacts of any regulatory change or expansion.

Indiana Senator Jon Ford, who is the incoming President of NCLGS, will moderate the panel discussion, which will include the following presenters:

  • Ali Bartlett, Partner, Bose McKinney and Evans Gaming Practice

  • Scott Gunn, Senior Vice President of Corporate Public Affairs, IGT

  • Martin Lycka, Senior Vice President for American Regulatory Affairs and Responsible Gaming, Entain

  • Jasmine Tompkins, Legislative Liaison and External Affairs Manager, Michigan Gaming Control Board

The four-day NCLGS Summer Meeting will include:

  • Six NCLGS Committee meetings, including those focusing on casinos, Indian gaming, lotteries, pari-mutuel, and responsible gaming

  • Morning and luncheon keynote addresses

  • International Masters of Gaming Law Masterclasses

  • Two general session panels

  • Two evening networking receptions

Once again, the GLI Regulator Seminar will co-locate with the NCLGS Summer Meeting, taking place July 7 at the Westin Copley Place.

The NCLGS Summer Meeting has been approved for 10 general credits of Continuing Legal Education by the State of Nevada.
